Portait de Marie-Isabelle d'Espagne, Reine consort des Deux-Siciles (1789 -1848) A very finely sculpted marble bust representing the sovereign wearing a large diadem in the antique style, the neckline adorned with a large pearl necklace bearing in medallion a profile of her husband King François I under a royal crown. H. : 74,5cm (2 pearls missing) Maria Isabel de Borbon, infanta of Spain, born on July 6, 1789 in Madrid and died on September 13, 1848 in Portici. Wife of King Francis I of the Two Sicilies, she was the mother of twelve children and the grandmother of 61 grandchildren, including Queen Isabella II of Spain, King Francis II of the Two Sicilies, Grand Duke Ferdinand IV of Tuscany, Princess Isabella of Brazil and Maria Pia of Bourbon-Deux-Siciles, titular duchess of Parma and Piacenza. She was also the mother-in-law of the Duchess of Berry, born of Francis I's first marriage to Marie-Clementine of Austria.
