Important file relating to Freemasonry in the West Indies mainly from the lodge "Saint-Jean d'Écosse" in Basse-Terre in Guadeloupe. It consists of handwritten documents and decorations from the Empire period (1806) of Brother de Bellegarde, a merchant in Basse-Terre, an eminent Freemason in Guadeloupe, a venerable member of the Saint-Jean d'Écosse Lodge and a very wise man of the chapter. This set preserved by the family to this day is composed of many various correspondence, reports, convocations and speeches of blue lodges and chapters. Note a convocation for the Order's feast in New York 5814. Decorations: large 18th century leather master apron (wear and tear). Rose-Croix Knight's apron in skin early 19th century (wear and tear). Silk Rose-Croix Knight apron early 19th century (spindle silk). Camail of Rosicrucian Knight early 19th century. This lodge created in 1768 by its venerable Arnaud, former member of "Wisdom of St. John of Scotland" of Marseille registered at the GO in 1774, it ceased its work in 1847
