* COLLECTION OF Mademoiselle de Nantes, Louise-Françoise de - Lot 168
* COLLECTION OF Mademoiselle de Nantes, Louise-Françoise de Bourbon (1673-1743). * Rare quilt with inventory marks from the Palais Bourbon, circa 1730, quilt cover for a bolster bed in light blue silk damask with a large pointed design of a flower in full bloom, flowering branches and clusters of fruit. Linen lining with three sepia inventory marks with the letters P. B. under a crown of Prince of the Blood and two handwritten inventory numbers 8 and 9. Ordered for the first furnishing of the Bourbon Palace built between 1722 and 1728 by the legitimate daughter of Louis XIV and Madame de Montespan, Duchess of Bourbon and then Princess of Condé by her marriage to Louis III of Bourbon Condé. Good condition, only the three inventory marks on the lining have left small stains on the right side, which would explain why this quilt was stored as it was hardly used. 190 x 125 cm - 75 cm. We thank Mr. G. Mabille, former General Curator at the Château de Versailles, for confirming the origin of the inventory marks. Provenance: kept in the descendants
