* PAIR OF ICEBOX VASES WITH AGATE BLUE BACKGROUND. Manufacture royale, Sèvres, 1832. Model Glacière AB 1816, in hard porcelain, ovoid form from the French iconographic service, used by King Louis-Philippe at the Château de Saint-Cloud. Central decoration of a large oval medallion in imitation of a cameo in hard stone representing Louis XII and François I surrounded by a frieze of gold laurel leaves. The gilded flared neck is decorated with a frieze of palmettes, ivy and gold volutes, the lower part is decorated with large palm leaves. The body is framed by two openwork gold grips held by satyrs' heads in matt gold. Resting on a square gilt bronze base. Good condition on one, accident and restoration on the other. Marks on the reverse: blue: Sèvres (18)32. H.: 32,5 cm - L.: 29 cm. History: the shape of this pair of ice-cream vases designed by Jean-Charles Brachard was often used for large services from 1816 to 1835. Provenance: this pair of vases made by the Sèvres manufactory in 1832 entered the store on October 9, 1834
