. Sino-Portuguese embroidered hanging, Macao workshops, mid-19th century, full embroidery in polychrome flock silk in oriental stitch on linen canvas. Decorated in the style of 17th and 18th century hangings and bedcovers with a medallion of a phoenix staring at the sun, framed by four other birds. Border of floral scrolls and banana leaves with four lotus flowers in the spandrels. Remarkable lining composed of sewn panels of old damask decorated with foliage and flowering vases, China or inspired by China silk (?), early 17th century. Curly fringe in gold thread, blue silk and coral around the edge, (some wear, dusty on the upper part and some accidents on the lining), 300 x 200 cm approximately.
