Border in Point de France, needlepoint, France, end of the 17th century. Decorated with soft branches and flowers embroidered in relief, the motifs are linked by picotated flanges. Dark ivory linen. Dim. 103 x 12 cm (good general condition) Similar to the border in the V & A Museum, London, referenced: T.340-1967 illustrated on pl. 228, "Lace a History" Mme Santina M. Levey.
