Rare panel in polychrome Buratto with birds, 17th century. Panel in its entirety in fine evening Buratto of unbleached colour embroidered with a symmetrical composition of floche silk in multiple colours: in the centre, a bouquet of flowers with a knotted cream coloured ribbon, on either side facing each other, two large birds in monochrome blue and pink wings nestling on leafy branches embroidered in two shades of green and sheltering numerous flowers including tulips, daffodils and carnations in monochrome of pastel. Size 102 cm x 25 cm (good condition, rare repeats, beautiful freshness of the colours for the embroidered silk) Provenance: Phillips sale, London, November 1992, Margaret Simeon Collection.
