Octagonal gilded wood coffee table with a top decorated with a frieze of polychrome arabesques surrounding the monogram C.R. at the four ends. (Caroline Regina) under the English Royal Crown. In the centre appears a blue semi-flower framed by a gold Greek frieze, the main border is also decorated with the same motif. The whole is painted on a vellum leaf, kept under glass. The top rests on four curved legs with a sculpted decoration of foliage, ending in a scroll decorated with rosettes. Good general condition. Early 19th century English work. Tray: W.: 59.5 cm - L.: 43 cm. H.: 70 cm History: This charming piece of lounge furniture comes from the private apartments of one of the residences of Queen Caroline, Queen Consort of Great Britain, née Caroline of Brunswick (1768-1820), wife of King George IV.
