Bust of a bearded man, probably Lucius Junius Brutus. Carved white marble, wear and tear, part of the back of the shoulders restored. Resumption of the model of the bronze bust known as Brutus Capitolin. This bronze was discovered in Rome in 1500 and associated without any real evidence with Brutus, the mythical founder of the Republic. The face has a serious, concentrated expression and combines Greek elements in the hair. The statue is currently kept in the Palazzo dei Conservatori of the Capitoline Museums in Rome. H.: 51 cm
