[Romantic Album Amicorum] [Journey on the... - Lot 1 - Coutau-Bégarie
[Romantic Album Amicorum] [Journey on the banks of the Loire]. A small volume in-folio, Italian style, full midnight blue morocco, cold decoration, gold titled on the first plate "Album", blue-Saint-André moiré paper endpapers (period binding). Dimensions: 15 x 23 cm. Charming album containing the drawn memories of what seems to be a cruise on the Loire, in 1844, as suggested by a date on a portrait (27 September 1844). This collection contains X drawings, including a view of a Gothic portal, about twenty landscapes of the banks of the Loire, eight pages of portraits, a genre scene and two pages of scribbles. Most of the landscapes are located, with a spelling and a writing style that did not make it possible to identify all the places. However, we did note: "Rochemoris Loire" (Roche Maurice, Nantes), "Bouguenet sur la Loire" (Bouguenais), "Villa Valentin à Clisson", "Clisson", "Château Labourdonnaye", "Tour d'Oudon, Loire", "Saint Florent le vieil, Tour à la mémoire de Bonchamp", "Saint Eusèbe", "Château de Saumur", "Chaumont Loire", "Château de Blois", "Tour de Dagobert", etc. Scrubbed binding, scratches. Provenance: Apollonie de la Rochelambert (1803-1893), then by descent until today. Set of souvenirs of Apollonie de la Rochelambert, born in Bruges (1803-1893). Apollonie was born in Berlin, where his father, the Viscount of Bruges, emigrated and married Henriette, Countess of Golowkin. Back in Paris, she befriends Aurore Dupin, the future Georges Sand, at the convent of the English Augustinian Ladies, then she
