HOUSE OF THE PRINCES OF BIBESCO. Large woven coat of arms in velvet enhanced with gold, silver and sequins threads framed by two lions on a background of an ermine coat topped by a princely crown. Wear and tear, but good condition. French work, 19th century. H. : 16 cm - L. : 19,5 cm. See illustration on page 31. Provenance : having belonged to Prince Georges III Bibesco (1804-1873), sovereign prince of Wallachia from 1843 to 1848.
