LIÉNARD Sophie (active 1842-après 1860).
Portrait of Prince Ferdinand-Philippe, Duke of Orleans (1810-1842). Large hard porcelain medallion, oval shape, decorated with a polychrome portrait signed on the left by the artist, representing the prince wearing the plaque of the order of the Legion of Honor and the badge of the order of King Leopold of Belgium. Preserved in its original gilt bronze frame with chased decoration of a frieze of leafy arabesques. Very good general condition, wear and tear of time to the frame. Red stamp: "Rihouet Ft de porcelaine, 7 rue de la Paix Paris", mid 19th century. Sight: H.: 14 cm - W.: 11 cm. Frame: H.: 21 cm - W.: 18 cm. History: Sophie Liénard was a French portrait painter specializing in miniatures. She exhibited at the Paris Salon between 1842 and 1845. She realized in particular portraits of Queen Victoria, Jerome Bonaparte and Louis-Philippe I.
