TABLE SERVICE OF THE DUKE OF NEMOURS, DAMON, PARIS, CIRCA 1890. Set of 9 hard porcelain dessert plates, with scalloped edge enhanced by a gold fillet and decorated on the top of the marli with the monogram of Prince Louis d'Orléans (L.O.L.) in gold letters, under a ducal crown. Small accidents, but good condition. Black marks on silver background on the reverse: Damon, 20 Bd Malesherbes, Paris. Diameter: 21.5 cm. See illustration page 104. History: Prince Louis d'Orléans, Duke of Nemours (1814-1896), was one of the sons of King Louis-Philippe and Princess Marie-Amélie de Bourbon-Sisciles (1782-1866).
