NEPOMUK ENDER Johann (1793-1854).
Portrait of Princess Louise d'Artois, future Duchess of Parma (1819-1864). Graphite drawing enhanced with watercolour, signed by the artist lower right "Joh. Ender". Good condition. Sight: H.: 23.5 cm - L.: 18 cm. See illustration page 3. History: this work from life, represents the princess around 1845, at the time of her marriage to Prince Charles III of Bourbon-Parma, Duke of Parma. This drawing is most likely a preparatory study for a miniature. The artist was very famous as a miniaturist. In this portrait, the young princess is wearing the two strings of pearls and the famous pear-shaped pearl belonging to Queen Marie Antoinette, coming from her daughter, the Duchess of Angouleme, sold in 2018 at Sotheby's.
