It is the first time that a person has been able to see the whole of the history of the world, and to see the whole of the history of the world. Followed by two volumes of the Physical and Natural Sciences since the death of Buffon by M. le Baron Cuvier, printed in Paris, by Baudoin Frères and N. Delangle, 1825-1828, in-4°, 34 volumes (including supplements (4 volumes dated 1825 and 1828) and complements 2 volumes (dated 1828)), in-8 of more than300 pp, period binding in blue paper, text in French Attached are 34 fascicles in yellow cardboard, with glued labels bearing the inscription: "oeuvres complètes de Buffon, complément, Atlas" from the 1st to the 32nd issues, with cords, which should contain the illustrations of the various volumes we are attaching: a set of 118 illustrated plates out of text of the series "Birds" heightened with watercolour, a set of 78 illustrated plates out of text of the series "Mammals" heightened with watercolour (missing plates 34 and 52), a set of 6 illustrated plates out of text from the "Cetacean" series enhanced in watercolour (missing plates 1, 2, 5, 6), a portrait of Buffon and 4 miscellaneous plates and the general Table of contents which could not be published at the same time as the 28th and last volume of Buffon's works. Age wear on some volumes, but good general condition.
