La Dame Blanche, comic opera in three acts, words by Mr Scribe. Set to music and dedicated to Her Royal Highness, Madame la Duchesse de Berry by A. Boieldieu, printed in Paris, by Maurice Schlesinger, volume of the 1st act, folio (360x280 mm), 269 pages gilt on edges, decorated in the opening with a lithograph signed H. Grevedon, representing a portrait of the composer, fine period binding in red morocco, stamped in the centre of each plate with the covenant arms of the Duchess of Berry, on the left the shield of Artois (azure with three fleur-de-lis embattled gules), on the right the quartered shield of the Two Sicilies surmounted by a crown of sons of France and surrounded by an olive branch and a branch of lily proper gold. The outer border is framed by a stylized frieze gilt with small irons, smooth spine decorated with gilt fleurons, title in gold letters. Text in French. Spine unstained, time wear, freckles.
