Les Jeux floraux, opera in three acts, lyrics by Mr Bouilly, music by Léopold Aimon, performed for the first time in Paris on the theatre of the Académie Royale de Musique, 16 November 1818, dedicated to H.R.H., Monseigneur le duc de Berry, printed in Paris, by the author, volume in-folio (360x280 mm), 360 pages gilt on edges, beautiful period binding in red morocco, stamped in the centre of each plate with the coat of arms of the duchess of Berry, on the left the shield of Artois (azure with three fleur-de-lis embattled gules), on the right the quartered shield of the Two Sicilies surmounted by a crown of sons of France and surrounded by an olive branch and a lily branch proper gold. The outer border is framed by a double stylized frieze gilt with small irons, smooth spine decorated with gilt fleurons, title in gold letters and numbered at the head of volume C. 25. Text in French. Spine unstained, with some wear and tear, freckles.
