TABATIERE. In black tortoiseshell, round shape, decorated on the lid with a miniature portrait painted on ivory representing Queen Marie-Antoinette as Diana the Huntress, preserved under a curved glass in a gilded copper frame. Containing inside a handwritten note bearing the inscription: "Portrait of Marie-Antoinette disguised as Diana on the occasion of the celebrations given on the occasion of the birth of the dauphin painted by Loq... and in 1779". Slight accidents, but good general condition. French work of the 18th century. H. : 2 cm - Diam. : 8,5 cm. Provenance : former collection of Alain Bancel (1927-2002), then sale of his estate at Piasa Paris - May 21, 2003 under the n° 283.
