Text: "December 28, 1818: Finding myself in Grigna in 1813, I questioned an old canon aged 93 years, who despite his great age had the fire of youth, an extreme friendliness and knowledge that time, a long series of years spent in the world add in a person, fortunately born. This good old man took me in friendship, I used to go to his house to relax from the daily courses I used to do in the surroundings of Grignan in company with many rabbits, scorpions, owls and owls. When I left, he gave me a paper with some hair on it and said, "My uncle was treasurer of the castle of Saint-Sauveur de Grignan. It was he who married Pauline to the Marquis, he died in 1737. I found this hair in his secretary with a label of the hand: horses of the Marquise de Sevigne. I have no other proof of their authenticity, but I am a thousand times happy to have at my disposal something that can be pleasant to you Madame and to Miss the Marquise de Gontaut. So here is some of this blond hair (...) is at least proof of its age (...)"
