Two borders, Buratto and threads drawn with grapes, Italy, early 17th century. The Buratto border has weft and warp in indigo linen embroidered with a cream linen thread, religiously symbolic decoration of bunches of grapes, vine shoots and leaves; a small frieze with small motifs on each border. Dim. 1 m x 10.5 cm (good condition, shades of blue) The other is made of fine linen, with threads drawn from a reserve of canvas and embroidered with straw-coloured silk, decorated with a waving vine branch laden with bunches of grapes, foliage and small tendrils, between two friezes with small stylised motifs. The lower border is decorated with a small needle motif. Dim. 36 cm x 10 cm (good condition)
