Two handkerchiefs embroidered with deer and... - Lot 52 - Coutau-Bégarie
Two handkerchiefs embroidered with deer and hounds, 2nd half of the 19th century. In linen, very finely hemmed in small days and superb embroidery with plumetis and sand stitch in a corner. One to two dogs: near a hut drowned in a luxuriant vegetation with varied flowers and foliage, a dog with ears raised and attached by his collar to a chain turns towards a second dog running to his rescue, and large embroidered figure JH hanging from a garland of falling foliage. (very nice condition) And one with a brocade on the edge of a forest and heading towards a fountain, mountain landscape in the background. (nice condition, a few pale freckles and threads slightly apart in one place)
