L'odalisque, 1911 Folded fan, balloon shape, the silk sheet stenciled. A naked young woman dances to the music of a flute player, under the eyes of a couple whose nudity shows through under a veil. Signed lower right "G. Barbier 1911". Mentioned on the left "Edited by Paquin in Paris". Reverse side painted with orange flowers on a blue silk background. Bone frame painted with orange flowers on a blue background. Metal hanger. Original tassel with orange and blue trimmings. H.t. 24,5 cm-H.f. 16,2 cm (superb condition) In its original case covered with blue leather. Address gilt on iron: "Paquin /3 rue de la Paix/ Paris". NB. The Metropolitan Museum of New-York keeps one of the five copies of this composition executed on bone strands
