Parisian market, circa 1760 Rare folded fan, the double sheet of paper painted with gouache of a scene of daily life in Paris. A couple on a cart pulled by two men is crossing a market where market women are selling their vegetables. A priest is preaching in front of his processional banner. The composition is inspired by two works of Etienne Jeaurat (1699-1789) "The moving of a painter", and "The Maubert place" (1753). Reverse side painted with a landscape. Imported ivory* mount finely pierced and engraved with flowers. China, 18th century. H.t. 24,2 cm H.f. 12,5 cm In a box bearing the address of the Duvelleroy house. End of the 19th century
