OZNOBICHINE Dimitri Ivanovitch (1869-1956).
Autograph letter signed "Dimitri Oznobichine", Paris, dated November 8, 1912, addressed to General Victor Wladimirovitch Nagaieff, on letterheaded paper of the aide of the House of Duke George Wladimirovitch of Leuchtenberg, whose general is the aide-de-camp, 3 pages, in-folio. Text in Russian. Slightly missing, but good condition. Translation: "Dear Victor Wladimirovich, last Monday, November 5, the day of my departure abroad, I visited you in the General Staff Headquarters to leave you my contact details abroad. Your adviser told me that the letter had arrived with my approval for the new post in Tiflis at the headquarters of the 1st Caucasian Army Corps. In principle I fully agree with such a negotiation, but the question of the time of the appointment is very important to me. I would need at least 2 months to transmit the files of my current service. Being the sole deputy to His Imperial Highness the late Prince G. M. Romanovsky [6th Leuchtenberg Seduct]. I have to manage all his foreign affairs, the questions of his fortune and division. That is why unfortunately I am obliged to decline the post in Tiflis and at the same time I am asking you for my appointment not before the end of January, beginning of February in one of the Headquarters located in Warsaw, Moscow, Riga, Odessa, Kieff or Smolensk. Until the end of January I will be at the following address: "Colonel Oznobishin, 63 Prony Street".
