MEDALLION IN LACQUERED COPPER FROM JAPAN. Oval in shape, with gold decoration slightly in relief called "Takamakie" on a black lacquered background called "Roiro", representing a portrait of Monsieur, brother of the king, Philippe duc d'Orléans, from an engraving of the time, surmounted by his name in gold letters. On the reverse is the inscription in gold letters "Duc d'Orléans, born in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, 21 7bre 1640, died in Saint-Cloud on 9 June 1701". With suspension ring. Japanese work, Kyoto, late 18th century, for export, via the counter of the Dutch East India Company. Small accidents on the edges, but good general condition. H.: 12 cm - L.: 9 cm.
