QUEEN DESIDERIA SUEDE GILT CUTLERY SET. Set of three cutlery with the numeral of Queen Désidéria of Sweden, née Désiré Clary (1773-1850), consisting of a vermeil fork and spoon with a finely chiselled rounded handle decorated with a frieze of foliage, horns of plenty and cherubs surmounted by a winged swan bearing an escutcheon engraved with the monogram D (Désidéria) under the royal crown. A dessert knife, gilt frame and blade, mother-of-pearl handle inlaid with a gold escutcheon engraved with the monogram D (Désidéria), under the royal crown. The set is kept in a part of the case. Good general condition, the lid of the case is missing. Title stamp : Vieillard, Paris, 1819-1838. Goldsmith's mark: Charles-Salomon Mahler, Paris, 1824-1838. L.: 18 cm, 18.5 cm, 19 cm. Total gross weight: 140 g.
