LONGUE-VUE
Large rosewood telescope, retractable model with four gilded brass stretches that belonged to Marshal Ney as indicated by the handwritten inscription on the case "Lunette d'approche ayant appartenu au Mal Ney, donnée à mon grand-père, André Philippe ancien fournisseur des vivres, commissaire des guerres sous le 1er Empire, Émile Clavel; archiviste honoraire de la chambre des députés" (Approach telescope that belonged to the Mal Ney, given to my grandfather, André Philippe, former food supplier, commissioner of the wars during the 1st Empire, Émile Clavel; honorary archivist of the Chamber of Deputies). Another label that accompanies the object specifies that it was offered at the Marshal's death in 1815: "Longue-vue du Maréchal Ney that my grandfather André Philippe, commissioner of wars under the First Empire, had at his death (1815)". Preserved with its original case, its lid is missing. Folded: Diam.: 7 cm - L.: 112 cm. Unfolded: Diam.: 6 cm - L.: 29 cm.
