Set of 16 L.A.S. and C.A.S.: "Isabelle comtesse d'Eu", addressed to the Count and Countess Paul Laffleur de Kermaingant, dating from 1901 to 1909, various formats, most of them on letterheaded paper with the arms of the Orléans-Brazil alliance and of the Château d'Eu. Text in French, 28 pages. Text: - Boulogne-sur-Seine: "I know your beautiful talent and that of your daughter and I come, to ask you both to put it at the disposal of a very beautiful work: the abolition of slavery. My father, Emperor Dom Pedro, has taken care of it all his life, I have cooperated in it myself in my country and I continue to take care of it here as Honorary President of the Ladies' Committee of the Anti-Slavery Society of France. I am organizing for 6,7,8 and 9 May 19902 at Georges Petit's house a ?? and a lottery of works of art in favour of my dear village of freedom. Would you both like to give me something from you for my work? I'd be very grateful." - Boulogne-sur-Seine: "You would please me by keeping these tickets for the evening I'm organising for the society for the encouragement of young Mexicans. By attending the concert, you would hear our orchestra composed of fifty young people and children whose talent truly deserves your support." - Château d'Eu, 28th September 1905: "Thank you for your kind letter announcing the engagement of your daughter Yvonne. The Count d'Eu and I are very pleased to hear this happy news and wish all the best to the newly engaged." - Château d'Eu, 12th November 1905: "I thank you very much for your kind letter. The Count d'Eu and I would have been happy to be with you on Tuesday at the wedding of your dear Yvonne. But alas it is impossible for us to leave Eu on that day. We extend our stay here for some time. You must be sure that our thoughts and my prayers will be with you and Monsieur de Kermaingant in these moments so full of emotion" - May 22, 1908: "All my thanks for your so kind and generous response on behalf of my Young Mexica
