Set of 5 L.A.S. and C.A.S.: "Manuel R", addressed to Count Xavier Villeneuve-Bargemont (1865-1916), dating from 1911 to 1914, various formats, most of them on letterhead decorated with his monogram, of Sandringham, Marlborough Club and Fulwell Park (Twickenham). Text in French, 15 pages. Text: - München, 4.5.1913: "Thank you so much for your so good letter and your so affectionate wishes on the occasion of my engagement. I do not forget our conversations (...) from a sincere friend who takes part in my great happiness." - January 1914: "A thousand pardons for coming so late to thank you for the lovely souvenir you sent me for my wedding. (...) To prevent me from writing to you: (...) Illness of the Queen, the death of our dear grandmother and our new installation." - January 1911: "I've seen the Duke of Orleans several times and I find him the best I can." - Sandringham, January 1912: "I wish you and Jean and Loulou a happy new year and may God grant you joy, happiness and health. I've been thinking about last year's Christmas at the Horton. This time we spent it at your house in Richmond. Dear Uncle Philippe was with us for three days."
