Beautiful folded fan that once belonged to Princess Isabelle d'Orléans-Bragance, Crown Princess of Brazil (1846-1921). The fewuille in bobbin lace is decorated with flowers and two trophies, symbols of love mixing quiver and torch. In a central cartel appear the arms of the imperial house of Brazil. White mother-of-pearl frame pierced, engraved and burgauté decorated with five baskets of flowers alternating with quivers and torches. Bead set with rhinestones. Restorations and small missing part. H.: 28 cm - L. open: 51.5 cm. Provenance: this beautiful fan was offered to the Crown Princess of Brazil, eldest daughter of Emperor Dom Pedro II, on the occasion of her marriage, celebrated on 15 October 1864 in Rio de Janeiro, with Prince Gaston d'Orléans (1842-1922), Count of Eu. The latter was the eldest son of Prince Louis d'Orléans (1814-1896), Duke of Nemours. Then kept by descent by his granddaughter, Princess Isabelle d'Orléans-Bragance, Countess of Paris (1911-2003).
