LE TELLIER Jean-Baptiste (1759-1812), attribué à - Lot 8
LE TELLIER Jean-Baptiste (1759-1812), attribué à Portrait of Louis-François I of Bourbon, Prince of Conti (1717-1776), wearing the ribbon and plaque of the Order of the Holy Spirit. Miniature on ivoire∆, oval in shape, preserved under curved glass in a gilded bronze back frame surmounted by a ribbon knot, with an easel foot on the back. Small lacks, but good general condition. At sight: H.: 4.5 cm - L.: 3.5 cm. Frame: H.: 7 cm - L.: 5 cm. Reference: interesting and rare miniature of the Prince de Conti. This iconographic representation can be compared to an engraving by Antoine Louis Romanet (1742-1810), based on the portrait by Jean-Baptiste Le Tellier, of which the Bibliothèque nationale de Paris holds a copy where the prince appears in the same pose and with the same clothes. See also this representation on the website of the "Association Les Amis de L'Isle Adam".
