Exceptional brooch in 750°° yellow gold and 850°° platinum, stylizing an orchid, the flower in high relief paved with daffodil diamonds (about 15 carats), the pistil set with an oval emerald cabochon. The articulated platinum rod set with baguette diamonds on a rail. The 585th gold pin. Attributed to Carrington & Company, England 1930s. Height: 9.4 cm, width: 5.8 cm Gross weight: 26.88 g In a signed case. Founded in 1780 Carrington & Company was the first jeweller to set up in London on Regent Street. Jeweller of the English court with the privilege of Queen Victoria, Prince Albert, King Edward VII, King George V, as well as Nicholas I and II and Queen Alexandra of Russia. Known for his accessories and cufflinks, his creations were sold by Tiffany & Co in the United States. This brooch was probably made for the American market, which is very fond of this type of orchid brooch.
