BIG BRIDAL VEIL. In bobbin lace, with applications of England decorated with flowers and scrolls, adorned in the centre with the coat of arms of the Talleyrand-Périgord house under the crown of the Marquis and Peer of France and an important rosette. Good general condition. Work from the 19th century. H: 200 cm - W: 345 cm. Provenance: old collection of the Talleyrand family. It was worn by several generations of members of this family. The last person to wear it on her wedding day was Alexandrine de Premio Real Talleyrand-Périgord (1913-2006), who married André Popovici on 4 February 1944 (see attached picture). She was the daughter of Édouard duc de Premio Real y Gonzales (1876-1947) and Anne de Talleyrand-Périgord (1877-1945) and the granddaughter of Count Archambaud de Talleyrand-Périgord (1845-1918) and Anne-Charlotte de Gontaut-Biron (1847-1922). This veil according to the family tradition was first worn on April 21, 1809 by Dorothée de Biron, Princess of Courlande (1793-1862), great-grandmother of Alexandrine de Premio Real, during her marriage with Edmond de Talleyrand, Duke of Dino (1787-1872). Princess of German origin, she will remain famous for her beauty, her spirit and was the companion of her husband's uncle, the Prince de Talleyrand, French diplomat and statesman (1754-1838).
