PAIR OF SCISSORS. According to family legend, they belonged to Queen Marie Antoinette. Finely chiselled with a floral motif in pink gold on a yellow gold background. Preserved in its original green stingray case. An autograph handwritten note bears the inscription: "My memories on the scissors of Marie-Antoinette. They were given to mummy by an old friend who lived above us, Baroness Longchamp in Marseille. She was related to the Comtesse de Jouenne d'Esgrigny d'Herville and they would have been given to her by a lady in love with Marie-Antoinette. This gift must have been made in 1869 or 1872". French work from the end of the 18th century. L.: 10, 5 cm. Gross weight: 13 grs.
