PELLOS, René (1900-1998)
ANQUETIL SAVOURS HIS VICTORIES. Press cartoon about the world of cycling in the 60/70's typical of Pellos who worked for many sports periodicals such as Miroir du Cyclisme, Miroir Sprint or Sport Mondial, bumping into the participants of the Tour de France many times. Here we find Jacques Anquetil, a rider who dominated the Tour de France in the 60-64 period, and who also won many other races listed on the jersey he wore. Under the table we see his competitors Raymond Poulidor and Tom Simpson (the latter having died on Mont Ventoux during the 1967 Tour, this drawing is therefore earlier). Pencil and India ink on paper. Size: 39 x 30 cm. Signed lower right.
