LES BELLES HISTOIRES DE L'ONCLE PAUL 4 double plates L'oncle Paul - Antoine de St Exupery published in the magazine Spirou n° 789 - May 28th 1953. Les belles histoires de l'Oncle Paul is an educational series created in 1951 by Jean Michel Charlier and illustrated by Eddy Paape for Spirou. Its public success allowed many authors to collaborate in it, including Gérald Forton (cartoonist on Bob Morane, collaborator of Jacobs, teddy Ted, storyboardeur for Hollywood...), son of Louis Forton (creator of Les Pieds Nickelés). This story with Octave Joly's screenplay is dedicated to St Exupéry, and more precisely to his attempt to reach Paris-Saigon in less than 87 hours. Uncle Paul uses this story as an example of courage and non renunciation.
