Silhouettes of the Allies, by Charles Poisson, wounded sergeant, 1917 Wooden fan of broken type carved by Ch. Poisson, sergeant prisoner in Switzerland at Vernayaz in Switzerland (Valais) in 1917. Represented are the silhouettes of the different leaders of the states involved in the First World War. From left to right, the President of the French Republic, Raymond Poincaré, King George V of England, Tsar Nicholas II of Russia, King Victor Emmanuel III of Italy, King Albert I of Belgium, and King Peter I of Serbia. With a shadow effect by placing it in front of a light source. The plume is engraved "World War 1917. The second plume is engraved "Silhouettes of the Allies / Ch. Poisson Wounded Sergeant". With a last mention inside "Interned in/ Vernayaz/ Valais/ Switzerland". Ribbon with the colors of the French flag. Rivet struck with a star. H.t. 21,2 cm N.B. : Charles Poisson was in the 15th company, of the 43rd regiment of colonial infantry. Wounded, he was taken prisoner in 1914. He arrived in Switzerland in 1916, before being repatriated to France in 1918.
