Edelweiss scrolls, circa 1870 Folded fan, the paper sheet lined with skin and painted with gouache. A group of lovers in side panels illustrate for some, Summer with sheaves of wheat and a scythe, and for others, Spring with flowers. In the center, a farewell scene is based on Jean-Baptiste Pater's "The Kiss Given" (ca. 1750). Reverse painted with a garland of golden foliage on the border and an altar of Love with doves and a basket of flowers in the center. Original and fine white mother-of-pearl mount pierced, engraved and gilded with two edelweiss scrolls framing a carved, engraved and burgled cartel. Reverse side: resumption of the motifs of the face. H.t. 29 cm - H.f. 13,5 cm (restorations, stains)
