Portraits of damsels in miniature, circa 1780 Folded fan, the double gouache-painted paper sheet of a serenade offered on the occasion of a country lunch. Reverse side painted with a fishing scene in the center, framed by an altar of love on the left, and by a beehive, symbol of harmony and concord, on the right. White mother-of-pearl mounting, pierced, engraved and gilded showing Mars and Venus under a blazing sun. At the top of each plume, protected by a glass, a portrait of a woman in miniature; and two birds smooching treated in grisaille. H.t. 27,3 cm - H.f. 12,5 cm (good condition, missing and restored)
