The sweetness of the breeze, circa 1760 Folded fan, the double sheet in thin skin (cabretille) painted in gouache on the theme of the wind. In front of a bay, which could be in Italy, three young women with butterfly wings hold a veil flying in the wind or roses to evoke Flora wife of Zephyr. A lover in front of them holds a windmill. Newts with butterfly wings are represented in the foreground, leaning against a boat sail on the ground. Reverse illustrated with three knotted branches, including myrtle and laurel (?). Original white mother-of-pearl mount pierced, engraved and gilded with an interlacing of ribbons on either side of three burgundy cartels illustrated with loves framing a shepherd playing the flute for a shepherdess. H.t. 29 cm - H.f. 14 cm (wear, restorations)
