Ewer and its basin in 950e vermeil. The ewer rests on a pedestal chiselled with interlacing, lanceolate water leaves and reeds, surmounted on the upper part of the body by a frieze of interlacing and palmettes, the handle in winged mermaid bearing grapes. The basin chiselled with interlacing and vine branches, applied with two heads of Medusa. Paris, 1809-1819. Master goldsmith: Pierre Jacques Meunier, goldsmith in Paris 12 rue du Cloître Notre Dame from 1797 to 1809. Ewer: H.: 32 cm; Basin: L.: 35. 7cm. Weight: 1,811 g. A model very close to ours is kept at the Château de Chantilly.
