Pair of candleholders in chased and gilt bronze and white ma - Lot 132
Pair of candleholders in chased and gilt bronze and white marble, resting on a pedestal with garlands of roses au naturel, the vestal shaft holding a basket overflowing with grapes and forming the binet. Louis XVI period. H.: 37cm. The original model can be attributed to the Parisian gilder François Rémond (1747-1812), received master in 1774. The use of woven baskets, garlands of natural flowers and the hanging trimmings of the cushion remind us of Rémond's deliveries, notably to Princess Kinsky in 1784 through the marchand-mercier Daguerre.
