Small notebook case, circa 1836, both sides lined with acid-etched and partly gilded polished steel plates. One is decorated under glass with a painted miniature representing the obelisk erected on Place de la Concorde on October 25, 1836; the reverse side is decorated with scrolls and birds. The inside is covered in raspberry moire and includes a gusseted pocket and a notebook. Closed with a pencil, 10 x 7 cm.
