Flora and Apollo, Europe, circa 1750 Folded fan, the leaf in skin, mounted in English and painted with gouache of the shepherd Endymion on his knees, and kissing the arm of Flora surrounded by lovers. One of them holds Apollo's harp. Reverse: a central tree and garland of flowers around the perimeter. White mother-of-pearl mounting, engraved, burgued, silvered and gilded, decorated with children in a Chinese-style garden. H.t. 30 cm (wear, stains)
